Happy Thanksgiving, and a wonderful kickoff to the holiday season. I'm looking forward to a very merry Christmas, the first with my wife. It's a great time, but it's also such a hectic time and I know I for one will be horribly busy. I hope to continue to post on a regular basis though, so keep checking in.

Remember, be thankful!

Hello Clufftastic Fans,

I've been thinking about the future. The future is bright and good, and at least now with the victory of George W. Bush we know that we we will continue to fight the war on terror until we win, and I wonder what is the place of Clufftastic Conservativism in this future?

During the election there were countless thousands of political topics to discuss. And even know as we transition from the first to the second terms I know there are and will continue to be stories and viewpoints that need to be shared. But what do I want to do with 'CC'?

I'm thinking I can either continue to discuss only or primarily political stuff, or should I branch out into more every-day stuff? I have my ideas, but I would love to hear some feedback what would you rather see?

As always I continue to maintain my reviews of books as I read them here: http://www.chadcluff.com/reviews/bookreview.html and of course my family journal/blog here: http://www.chadcluff.com/personal/families.html

I look foward to hearing what you think.

On a side/political note: Carolyn Parrish an official in the Canadian govt. continues to prove that she is among the most ignorant women in the world. http://www.canada.com/national/story.html?id=03bd20c9-7950-417e-bb84-e011cb8fd2fa shares the story of her stomping on a doll of George Bush. You may remember her as the one who called Americans "bastards" and the war in iraq as the "coalition of the idiots." I understand, having lived in Canada for 2 years, just how bitter so many of her people are at the constant reminders in their face at just how dependent they are on America for their very survival but it's pretty pathetic for a grown woman, in a place of extreme importance could act like such a child. It's embarassing to all Canadians.

The cowards of the "insurgency" in Iraq have proven that they are nothing more than evil tyrants trying to destroy the way of life of the Iraqi people. No longer can they claim to be fighting for the Iraqis against the American occupation. No, with the cold blooded murder of Margaret Hassan they have lost any prior claim to credibility.

Hassan, British born has spent the last half of her life in Iraq, married to an Iraqi, serving heart and soul the Iraqi people. Amazingly, the woman who has given so much to the Iraqi now has given the ultimate sacrifice.

And American's are afraid that the terrorists are being treated unfairly. They are utterly ruthless cold blooded killers.

Veterans Day

I would be remiss if I didn't take a moment to thank the Veterans who have served so honorably in our Countrie's service. You men and women represent the hopes and ideals of the American people every time you perform your duty.

I truly admire and appreciate you, your record, and the country for which you serve.

Hello, conservative fans. I'm sorry I haven't writen recently. Not only have I been enjoying the first week of President Bush's reelection, but I've also been sick as a dog. The only thing that could have had me feeling worse would be if John Kerry had won the election. Luckily the American people are looking out for my health.

I hope to have some stuff coming out soon, including an essay I've been working on about North Korea and avoiding the trap of bilateral talks. I've also got an essay I'm working on about how the Democrats lost the heart of the heartland. I think you'll enjoy them. I know I have enjoyed it.

Some of the things that have caught my eye recently are the outrageous claims the press have been making recently, including items that show how American's are so depressed by Bush's win that they're swamping the Canadian immigration website. The fact of the matter is, George Bush won the election by a record number. He won the first plurality in over a dozen years and easily won the electoral college.

Secondly, what is the deal with France? Why are they part of the international community? We talk about Kim Jong-il and how he's a willfull ruler that is particularly selfish and unpredictable, but what about Jacques Chirac? The man is insane, completely ruled by greed and hatred of the United States. This is a man who absolutely refused out of hand to meet the President of Iraq while he was in France, and then goes out of his way to meet with Yassir Arafait, a man at the root of more acts of terrorism aimed at women and children than anyone except possibly Osama bin Laden.

Also, of extreme importance, Supreme Court Judges, its looking like sooner than later there will be at least one nomination, and likely a couple. Stay tuned on this one.

Congratulations to President Bush on winning reelection. Congratulations to the American people, who stood up and made their thoughts known in record numbers. This is democracy in action. I personally am proud of the way the nation handled itself, in light of the thousands of lawyers and watchers, on both sides. We really stood together and did what we knew we should, and in the end, there were very few problems, and very few bad feelings.

I wish I'd been able to blog more yesterday, as the race was unfolding, but I've been suffering from a nasty case of the dread-gomboo. However, I did watch the coverage, and I was there when the early exit polls showed a landslide victory for Kerry, I admit, it was disheartening, but when the actual numbers started coming in, the tide really went the other way.

Once Ohio was called to President Bush I knew it was done, the only remaining variable was if Senator Kerry would viciously fight the results and divide the nation, would they concede, or would they take a more backseat, see what happens over the next few hours and go from there.

Well, in the end, Kerry did the later, he waited until he saw that there was literally no chance that he could surpass Bush's lead in Ohio. And this morning, Kerry called President Bush and conceded him the white house.

I think that was a very classy and appropriate thing to do. Rather than tear the nation apart again, Kerry recognized that the President was clearly the choice of the people. I tip my hat to Kerry and appreciate his honesty in this matter.

President Bush clearly won, winning not only the Electoral College and the popular vote. It's not been since 1988 that a presidential candidate won over 50% of the popular vote. Congratulations to President Bush on a well run campaign.

Clearly the people have spoken. President Bush is our choice to lead the world.
