Winter Blast

We got hit with a pretty big snow storm a few days ago. It’s pretty funny because they told us on the news that this storm, although significant, wouldn’t be as bad as the dreaded blizzard of 2010 (which ended up not leaving more than an inch of snow).

Because it wasn’t going to be that big of a deal we did our normal thing at work and didn’t leave early or anything. When we did leave, the sky was getting dark and threatening. By the time we reached Lehi it was starting to rain. In Saratoga Springs the rain was heavier and colder. Hitting Eagle Mountain put us in the first few drops of snow flakes.

A few hours later, I went out to this.

I spent about an hour trying to clear snow, but it was snowing so hard and the wind was blowing so hard that visibility was nothing.

I decided I had to call it quits as the weather got worse and went inside with the job half done.

It calmed down a while later and I was able to go out and finish the job, though I had to redo the areas I had already done.

It wasn’t uncommon to have snow in spots up to 16” deep.

A lot of people don’t think about this, but you have to clear the street where you pull in or you’ll be stuck.

Doesn’t that look nice?

So crazy. I can't believe how wild that was. It was nice to be inside, warm, getting hot cocoa ready. It was a lot of work. ;)
